Interviews can be intimidating, we get it. But they don’t have to be. There are ways to prepare yourself to ace your next interview. Follow these six simple tips that can help you ace your next interview.

1.    Research the company.

Researching the company, you are interviewing for, sets you up for success in multiple facets. Knowing your company’s culture and missions allows you to consider if these align with your own interests, goals, and values. Additionally, this knowledge can be used in your interview to show that you are a thoughtful and well-prepared candidate.

2.    Prepare your answers for possible questions.

Coming prepared with answers to possible questions is the number one way to ace an interview. Though you may not know what exactly will be asked, these are some common interview questions:

-Tell me about a time you worked in a team

-Tell me about a time you solved a problem

 -Why should we hire you?

 -What’s your biggest weakness?

-What do you think are your biggest strengths?

3.    Practice with someone else.

Practice, practice, and practice some more. Have someone ask you possible questions in real time and prepare your answers. Ask for feedback on what you did well and what you can improve on from your practice interviewer.

4.    Be yourself.

Authenticity is the key to all. Try to not get too nervous and stopping your personality shine through. The company wants to hire you for you, not for who you are pretending to be.

5.    Know what you’re talking about.

Try to not guess your way through your interview. Highlight key points you want to talk about and know them well. It’s normal when you are nervous to freeze and forget but remember to take a breath. You got this.

6.    Be ready to ask questions.

Questions are not only helpful to you but to the company you are interviewing for as well. These help you better understand the business and your potential job roles. These help the company better understand you and what you value.
